Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Guide Range. By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Guide Range, Inc. (“Guide Range,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using Guide Range, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Guide Range is a two-sided marketplace that connects independent outdoor guides (“Guides” or “Hosts”) with travelers seeking outdoor adventure experiences (“Travelers”).
We provide tools for discovery, booking, payments, messaging, and reviews. The actual outdoor experiences are provided by independent Guides who are solely responsible for the safety, quality, and legality of their offerings.
3. User Accounts
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account information updated.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@guiderange.com.
- One Account Per Person: You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or reviews.
4. For Travelers
Booking and Payment
When you book an experience, you agree to pay the listed price plus any applicable fees. Payment is processed through our secure payment provider at the time of booking. Your booking is confirmed once payment is successfully processed and the guide accepts (or instant book is enabled).
Cancellation Policy
Each listing displays its own cancellation policy set by the guide. Please review the cancellation terms before booking. Cancellation credits are issued by Guide Range as follows:
Guide Range Guarantee Credits
- Late Cancellation Credit: $15 — issued when a guide cancels within 48 hours of the trip start time.
- No-Show Credit: $30 — issued when a guide fails to appear for a confirmed booking.
- Credits are applied to your Guide Range account and expire 12 months from issuance.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
Traveler Conduct
As a traveler, you agree to:
- Arrive on time and prepared for your booked experience
- Follow all instructions provided by your guide
- Treat guides and other participants with respect
- Disclose any medical conditions or physical limitations relevant to the activity
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and permit requirements
Assumption of Risk
Outdoor activities involve inherent risks including, but not limited to, physical injury, adverse weather, wildlife encounters, and property damage. By booking an experience, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume all risk of loss, damage, or injury arising from your participation. Some experiences may require you to sign a liability waiver prior to participation.
5. For Guides & Hosts
Eligibility Requirements
To list experiences on Guide Range, you must:
- Hold all required state and federal licenses, permits, and certifications for your activity type
- Maintain appropriate liability insurance coverage
- Be legally authorized to operate in the locations where you offer experiences
- Be at least 18 years of age
By creating a listing, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. Guide Range may request verification documentation at any time.
Listing Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring all listing information is accurate, including descriptions, pricing, availability, meeting locations, and safety requirements. Materially misleading listings may result in account suspension.
Commission & Payouts
- Platform Fee: Guide Range charges an 8% commission on the total booking amount for each completed trip.
- Payout Schedule: Earnings are disbursed to your connected payout account within 2 business days of confirmed trip completion.
- Taxes: Guides are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on income earned through Guide Range. Guide Range does not withhold taxes on your behalf.
Guide Strike Policy
To maintain quality and trust on the platform, we enforce the following strike policy for guideline violations:
- Strike 1: Written warning with guidance on the violation
- Strike 2: 48-hour listing pause pending review
- Strike 3: Account suspension pending formal review
- Pattern of Violations: Permanent removal from the platform
Cancellations by Guides
Guides should avoid canceling confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations may result in strikes and reduced search visibility. When a guide cancels, Guide Range will issue the applicable credit to the affected traveler (see Section 4).
6. Platform Fee & Conservation
Guide Range charges guides an 8% platform fee on completed bookings. This fee covers payment processing infrastructure, platform operations, customer support, and ongoing development. There are no listing fees or monthly charges.
Guide Range makes an independent conservation contribution to Leap’s Conservation Group as part of our mission. This contribution is covered by Guide Range and is not an additional charge to guides or travelers.
7. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Circumvent Platform Payments: Arrange off-platform payments for bookings discovered through Guide Range. All bookings must be processed through Guide Range.
- Post False Information: Submit fraudulent reviews, false listings, or misleading profile information.
- Harassment or Discrimination: Harass, discriminate against, or threaten any user based on race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Illegal Activities: Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- System Abuse: Attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with Guide Range systems, infrastructure, or other users’ accounts.
- Spam: Send unsolicited commercial communications to other users.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
8. Intellectual Property
The Guide Range name, logo, platform design, and all associated content created by Guide Range are owned by Guide Range, Inc. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without express written permission.
By submitting content (photos, descriptions, reviews) to the platform, you grant Guide Range a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and promote that content in connection with the Service. You retain ownership of your content.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GUIDE RANGE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, BODILY INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY OUTDOOR ACTIVITY BOOKED THROUGH THE PLATFORM.
GUIDE RANGE’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO GUIDE RANGE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.
10. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact Guide Range at support@guiderange.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes within 30 days.
Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in Charleston, South Carolina, or via video conference.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AND GUIDE RANGE WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION. All disputes must be brought in an individual capacity.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent any claim proceeds in court rather than arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, applicable law, or business practices. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app and via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
